APRIL 2, 2009 - THE ADICTS / THE BILLY BONES / THE HENCHMAN / DISGUSTER Anaheim, California is perhaps best known as the home base for "The Happiest Place on Earth", Disneyland. When one thinks of Disneyland, images of child-like scenarios always come to mind. It's no wonder then that the House of Blues at Downtown Disney made the perfect spot for The Adicts to play on Thursday night. Every time The Adicts play, just like a trip to Disneyland, you can't help but feel like a kid again. Confetti, beach balls, streamers, glitter, and vocalist "Monkey" with literally tricks up his sleeve, all combined deliver one of the most enriching times you will ever have. Disguster, The Henchmen, and The Billy Bones all played with Adicts as well. When the night began with Disguster, the House of Blues was already completely packed. Usually as the night progresses, the amount of people present tends to augment as well, but on this school night, people were trying to cram each other in whatever spaces they could squeeze themselves into. It was no surprise then that when the pit broke out for Disguster, it was a crowded and eager pit full of people running away from each other. Disguster played Punk Rock that set the mood inside the venue for the good times provided by pushing and shoving. Their music worked people up and even distracted you from the massive bodies pushing behind you. Disguster's set was fun and even rowdy, and it was easily seen in the reaction of the audience and pit. Got to hang out with the guys a bit and somehow, we were suddenly discussing a 7" deal! So it looks like Roger and company are gonna record us some songs and we're gonna do 1000 copies colored vinyl! Ya lucky bastards! SEPTEMBER 24, 2008 - SPLIT 10"s - H.O.S.S. / SUPERSUCKERS & ZEKE / HOLLEY 750 Well, we recorded two new H.O.S.S. songs in Denver over the weekend. These will be for the 10" split with the SUPERSUCKERS! This is really some KILLER stuff, so don't miss out on this one! Look for a colored vinyl 10" around Thanksgiving. Jamie from HOLLEY 750 showed up on one of his custom bikes. He ended up doing some gang vocals with the H.O.S.S. boys on the record. Then we all rolled over to some art gallery to see LOOKER play a quick set. The free beer and food attracted some flies as well as THE INSOMNIAXE who showed up, ate all the food, stole all the beer, waited until the art fags went out and bought more beer, and then stole that as we headed off to the INSOMNIAXE HOUSE for some serious drinkin' and jammin. By the end of the night, I had signed THE INSOMNIAXE! Look for a 5 song EP real soon! Great Pschobilly by these yunguns! And the next day we get news that it's lookin like the ZEKE/HOLLEY 750 split 10" is also gonna happen! STAY TUNED!

But first they started by raising holy-fuckin hell in Denver. There was a BIG fuckin crowd inside the Bluebird. I was kinda gettin a little drunky, sooos, I figgered I'd take it easy on these Denver kids....UNTIL THE MUSIC STARTED. I was IMMEDIATELY punched in the eye. I threw my beers on the crowd and proceeded to hammer cruds. They ripped thru a huge set full of old and new songs...mainly older ones. All the fuckin hits! HEWHOCANNOTBENAMED is outta control! Don't get too close to this fucker. AND NEVER turn yer back on him! Needless to say, by the end of the night, my old ass got winded, and i hadda puke all over those nice DENVER KIDDIES! I left that pit full of blood, sweat, and puke. I was also covered in all three. Next day, roll out to S.L.C. Rolled up to the club just as Blag and crew are loading in. I'm good at that. Got my ticket and went back to the hotel for a nap.Woke up feeling like I could maybe hammer some cruds after all. I was thinking I was gonna be tired. Roll down to BAR DELUXE, and hang with Curtiss and the crew at TATTO DELUXE. They own about the whole block! THE UTAH COUNTY SWILLERS opened the night and GODDAMN are they good! Check them out. THUNDERFIST also kicked much ass. Then the main course, DWARVES hit the stage for round 2. HEWHO IMMEDIATELY bloodies up a chick in the front row, JUST CRUSHING HER IN THE FACE WITH HIS GUITAR. I guess he don't like girls toucking his junk? Not much later, DRUNK- BLONDE- OLD -CHIC 2 GETS ON STAGE OVER BY HEWHO!!! He proceeds to abuse her real quick-like. Smashes her with the guitar, and then they flip her offa the stage. Blag told her to knock it off and she didn't listen. They rip thru another great set with many hi-lights, the best being when they rip thru S.L.C. Were they mocking the crowd? SLC is a beautiful city if anyone ever gets the chance to go. DWARVES are still the BEST BAND EVER. Look for full tour of us this summer! |
