Stiletto Boys A COMPANY OF WOLVES CD Remastered and Reloaded! I don’t even remember the last time that I heard a pop album that was this good. They wear their hearts and influences on their torn, striped sleeves, ladies and gentlemen—the Stiletto Boys. This ain’t ’77? Leave me the fuck alone pal — I don’t wanna think otherwise. The Buzzcocks (a cool cover of "I Don’t Mind"), The Dickies (you can just hear it on "Heaven Help Me" — even in the lyrics), The Jam (their version of "Life from a Window"), Stiff Little Fingers (tell me the beginning of "Mind Control" doesn’t sound like parts of "No More of That," and I’ll tell you that you’re full of shit), etc… Normally, I’d condemn the holy hell out of any lame-ass ’77 revivalist outfit, but the Stiletto Boys won’t take it — they put their own spin on it, replete with absolutely killer vocal harmonies, thick guitars and a rhythm section that refuses to take a backseat to the rest of the band. I’ve noticed quite a few people in 2001 are distancing themselves from the pop epidemic these days, and I don’t blame ‘em. There are too many bad pop outfits out there right now; too many shit bands resting on their limp-dick laurels, devoid of any trace of pure rock ‘n’ roll or genuine energy. But if you are one of those "types" who has dismissed pop altogether in favor of sucking up an equally overused offshoot of the rock crop (i.e. cookie-cutter garage, "big" rock and—ugh—"chaotic hardcore"), then I fucking pity you, ‘cause you’ll miss out on cool discs such as this. Stiletto Boys ROCKETS & BOMBS CD Remastered and Reloaded! We put this classic back in print. WOW the Lancaster PA punk scene spawned this latest set of punk/power pop meisters. Lancaster?! Oh well, lesson learned; good things come from obscure cities. STILETTO BOYS are a super tight, killer cool bunch of guys playing earnestly and fiercely, the type of quality music you don't find these days. It's melodic like the BUZZCOCKS, cynical like the ADVERTS, and catchier than a case of the clap in a Southeast Asian whorehouse. Chalk up another winner for High Society! Hooray! - NAMELLA J. KIM... MARCH 28, 2016 - STILETTO BOYS "WHEN WOLVES EMERGE" CD RELEASE!!! SEAN KYLE WOLFE 1972-2017 -------- When Sean submitted his "LIBERATOR" album to me....I was totally blown away. IMMEDIATELY. I said to him...."Damn Sean! This is really personal. It takes a lot of balls to share something like this." I said "This is amazing! This is by far the best group of songs you've ever made." He had been working on this album on and off for....14 years? I still have a demo CD that he gave me back in 1999 that has the first version of "SANCTUARY" on it that he and Eric Benner had recorded using a drum machine thingy. They were gonna start a new band and call it STYLUS. I'm not sure how many people ever knew about this or heard this early version. Like every song Sean wrote with Benner it is great. It is very simple in it's recording, playing, and sound,....but it was the beginning of the mature song writing between Sean and Eric B. that had grown out of their mutual love and passion for music during their time as The Stiletto Boys. Sean was a genius musically and otherwise. He was also very sensitive and loving and soft-hearted. We were very much alike in that we couldn't understand other people's inhumanity and dishonesty. Sean took everything very seriously and very much to heart. I do this as well. THIS is why Sean and I were such close friends. I am sure of it. We used to have the best talks, arguments, and discussions about life, love, women, booze, bands, and Punk Rock ism's. We also both very much understood Edgar Cayce, Spirituality, and the nature and wisdom of God and his intent for us here on his Earth. As above, so below. Always and in everything. Sean was such a beautiful person. He was MY FAVORITE person. Ever since I met him in 1997. He loved dogs as much as I do. He loved being in love. He was loyal, true, honest, and kind to a fault. In the words to his masterpiece "LIBERATOR" Sean exposed all of his passion, secrets, and dreams. He shared them with all of us by crafting them into beautiful Rock N' Roll songs. "Cannon Fodder" is an awesome retro Ramones-ey rant about the fact that our generation is nothing more than cannon fodder for a money hungry, war mongering, evil Government oligarchy. Just stunning. "Basement" strikes a chord with every intelligent disheartened person. It HAS to. "Follow The Leader" is one of my favorite songs Sean ever wrote. It is simply put an anthem about mindlessly falling in line and allowing "BIG BROTHER" to run your life in every aspect. I also suspect it was about OBAMA...I'm pretty sure. "Kamikaze" is another hauntingly beautiful song that Sean originally wrote and recorded as STYLUS a long time ago....but continually reworked and changed into what you get on the album. Like a lot of Sean's songs, this is about 2 people, hopelessly in love and destroying it and themselves even though they don't want to. I freakin' love this song and always have. "Happy Endings" is one of the songs that when I first heard this album....I KNEW this was something special. Sean had outdone himself with this song and many others. Simple and amazing song about love, life, and loss. I always felt a sad undertone in a lot of Stiletto Boys songs and this one exemplifies that underlying sadness that eventually breaks through to happiness and overwhelming joy. He wrote a lot of songs like that. Triumphant! "Time Stands Still" I don't fully understand....but IT IS A GREAT SONG! Sean told me it's about a guy he created in a game that he played. A guy who understood everything and felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. A guy who felt and absorbed all of the sadness and misunderstanding of the world around him. "Satellite" is another really old, reworked STYLUS song, and it really gets me in my heart. "Speaking to you via satellite" This song contains a lot of emotion. "Not That Way Anymore" is a cover of Stiv Bator's classic song. And Sean nails it. Another song about a relationship gone bad. "Self Destruction" is definitely about Sean. About hating the things he did wrong. Very emotional and powerful. Greatness. I really think he's saying "self-destruct-Sean". "All Too Much" this is possibly the pinnacle of Sean and Eric's collaborations. Deeply personal, yet meaningful and relevant to the world today and to each and every one of us. My favorite song on "LIBERATOR". In a world with an ounce of sense this would be a top ten smash hit. And then it directly leads into and sets the table for the next song. Almost like a two parter. "Come What May" is another song about being in love with a girl. Are you starting to see a pattern? But what Sean says in this song is absolutely the unedited truth. This song is about the feeling you get inside when you know that your beliefs are the pure truth and that nothing....NOTHING matters as much as being true to your heart and your instinct. Sean was sooo wise. "Non-Stop Flight"...."Now I'm shooting through the atmosphere...and I'm leaving this world behind....and I slowly turn my head around...looking back for the last time...it's time for me to jettison all the baggage I've kept inside...and a voice comes on the intercom and says...sit back relax and enjoy the ride...on this non-stop flight to the other side of your mind...feel free to be whatever you want to be...we're traveling through time and space to a place where you can be face to face with yourself...you know what you came here to do". By far my favorite lyrics by Sean. This is also an old reworked STYLUS song. It's almost like Sean always knew that he wasn't from here, he didn't belong here, and he couldn't wait to leave here. No doubt he wanted to go back to being fully conscious inside his mind after leaving earth and his body. We talked about it. He didn't want to hurt his loved one's but at the same time...he had a strong desire to reconnect with his higher consciousness. I hope everybody understands this. "Sanctuary" is yet another reworked STYLUS song. Yet again Sean is singing about being heartbroken. It's catchy and awesome. "The Truth Will Set You Free" is what Sean was capable of and I had hoped to explore more in the future. Brutally honest and heartfelt. This kid had balls the size of watermelons. In this song you can hear a beautiful interpretation of the boy's love for the Beatle's. Just unbelievable that this guy wrote and recorded this ENTIRELY....with Benner's input of course. They fed off of each other's ideas. It also incorporates their love of all things military. "Synia" transcends all previous songwriting in that it is the first example of a commercially viable song. Another song about lost love and heartbreak. Sean broke new ground here. He lived it. He felt it. He wrote songs about it and I'm glad he did. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sean left us too soon and he broke a lot of our hearts. I'm not sure why he didn't reach out in a more meaningful way....he knew that a lot of us were there for him 24/7. I know he did. But he left us. I miss him terribly everyday. I appreciate his music now just as I always have...because I COULDN'T APPRECIATE IT ANY MORE THAN I ALWAYS HAVE. I have always thought the world of Sean as a person and as a musician. I still get the impulse to call him and when I realize that I can't I am heartbroken all over again. I wrote this because I want everyone to hear Sean's music and to know about his heart. I wrote it for Connor to read one day. I wrote it for his family to read. I wrote it for friends and fans. STILETTO BOYS FOREVER. DECEMBER 7, 2013 - STILETTO BOYS "LIBERATOR" CD - OUT NOW!!! Over 5 years in the making, this IS the STILETTO BOYS masterpiece, and final opus. (or maybe not?) LIBERATOR is here just in the nick of time to help us turn the tide against our fascist and immoral Government. This is simply genius song-writing and execution. Really new heights are reached by Eric Benner's guitar playing which swoons and soars all over this record. When you hear these songs your faith in humanity will be restored. Your heart will beat a little faster. You just might get out of your chair. What these guys have come up with is mind-blowing to me and I've realized that this record alone is most certainly the sole reason for me to have started doing ZODIAC KILLER RECORDS. I feel that strongly about this. ZKR originally payed for studio time back in 2008 for this record...flew home to Pennsylvania cuz I wanted to be there for this. (I've been at every STILETTO BOYS studio session except the very first 8-track session) When Sean decided to scrap what we had recorded, I thought all was lost. But I hafta give him credit....he REALLY came thru....Sean Wolfe and Eric Benner recorded, engineered and produced this entire cd. With players being tracked in 3 different states, and Sean NEVER happy with what I thought were fantastic recordings of great songs, this thing took a while. But brother it is here now and you do not wanna sleep on this album! Triumphant, heartbreaking, invigorating, thought-provoking and inspiring....this is hands down the best record I've ever been a part of. Power-pop, rock, and punk are all intertwined in the way only the STILETTO BOYS craft their songs. This thing will grow on you like toe-fungus. This an absolute triumph in so many ways. While other bands are busy pressing demos and making stickers, the STILETTO BOYS have been honing their considerable song-writing abilities into these instant classic underworld anthems. THE TIME HAS COME BROTHERS AND SISTERS. WAKE UP. STAND UP. MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. STILETTO BOYS HAVE SUPPLIED THE SOUNDTRACK. YOUR VIOLATION WILL BE TELEVISED.
